ASBESTOS REGISTER & MANAGEMENT PLANS
MANAGING YOUR RISK
All owners, managing agents, leasing agents, principal contractors, occupiers, employers and employees should be aware of their obligations under the asbestos regulations to ensure compliance and safety in the workplace, primarily through the identification and production of a site specific asbestos register.
AEC use contemporary data collection methods and can provide full online access to our Alpha Tracker database to assist clients with larger portfolios manage their asbestos registers and data.
A register of asbestos (asbestos register) must be prepared following an asbestos survey or audit for asbestos by persons competent and qualified to conduct the inspection, risk assessment and provide information and guidance on remediation and management options. All our inspectors hold at a minimum the IP402 asbestos surveying certificate.
An asbestos management plan (AMP) can then be developed that provides the building occupants, employees and contractors or anyone who may come into contact with these items with detailed information on how to manage asbestos.
AIRBORNE FIBRE MONITORING & CLEARANCE CERTIFICATES
PROVIDING ASSURANCE
All friable (Class A) asbestos removal projects require air monitoring before, during and as part of clearance certification, prior to re-occupation. WorkSafe guidelines require a satisfactory independent visual inspection and clearance air monitoring by one of our Independent and Competent Asbestos Assessors.
All non-friable or bonded (Class B) removal projects require at a minimum a visual inspection by an independent and competent asbestos assessor.
Before reoccupation of any asbestos work area a thorough clearance inspection must be conducted and the requirement for air monitoring is determined by a competent person independent of the removal contractor.
Clearance certificates have been prepared and issued by AEC for thousands of projects across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific Islands
