AEC CREATING AN IMPRESSIVE COLLECTION OF SAFER SPACES ACROSS AUSTRALIA
Identify, assess, control, manage, monitor & review
ASBESTOS REMEDIATION & TREATMENTS
Reducing costs & improving outcomes
Procuring asbestos removal services can be fraught with risk.
It is important to undertake your due diligence prior to project award, as asbestos experts AEC can undertake the assessment, vetting and pre-qualification of your asbestos removal contractors, as well as provided detailed technical specification and tender documents.
Poorly scoped asbestos removals are at an increased risk of project delays and cost blow outs, before you contract your next asbestos removal project speak to the experts at AEC.
ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT & DEMOLITION SURVEYS
Managing your risks
Working for large government agencies on commercial assets through to domestic residences, AEC are able to identify, assess and provide immediate controls on a high risk, friable, ACM in an occupied workplace.
Due to often sensitive nature of asbestos discoveries, AEC have been able to provide detailed advice to business and domestic customers to help reduce their liabilities and inform all stakeholders of any issues in an informative and professional manner, reducing their asbestos risks and of industrial relations issues.
ASBESTOS REGISTER & MANAGEMENT PLANS
Managing your risks
All owners, managing agents, leasing agents, principal contractors, occupiers, employers and employees should be aware of their obligations under the asbestos regulations to ensure compliance and safety in the workplace, primarily through the identification and production of a site specific asbestos register.
AEC use contemporary data collection methods and can provide full online access to our Alpha Tracker database to assist clients with larger portfolios manage their asbestos registers and data.
A register of asbestos (asbestos register) must be prepared following an asbestos survey or audit for asbestos by persons competent and qualified to conduct the inspection, risk assessment and provide information and guidance on remediation and management options. All our inspectors hold at a minimum the IP402 asbestos surveying certificate.
An asbestos management plan (AMP) can then be developed that provides the building occupants, employees and contractors or anyone who may come into contact with these items with detailed information on how to manage asbestos.
AIRBORNE FIBRE MONITORING & CLEARANCE CERTIFICATES
Providing Assurance
All friable (Class A) asbestos removal projects require air monitoring before, during and as part of clearance certification, prior to re-occupation. WorkSafe guidelines require a satisfactory independent visual inspection and clearance air monitoring by one of our Independent and Competent Asbestos Assessors.
All non-friable or bonded (Class B) removal projects require at a minimum a visual inspection by an independent and competent asbestos assessor.
Before reoccupation of any asbestos work area a thorough clearance inspection must be conducted and the requirement for air monitoring is determined by a competent person independent of the removal contractor.
Clearance certificates have been prepared and issued by AEC for thousands of projects across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific Islands.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & CONSULTING
Work With Experts
Once ACM has been identified, the decision towards the next step can often be a daunting one even for the experienced construction / project manager.
AEC offers advice and consultation on best value approaches to asbestos removal and remediation, including analysis of the ongoing costs of management, the viability of encapsulation and other management options, and the longer term cost benefits of removal. If work is needed, we can compile asbestos demolition surveys, issue tender documents and provide detailed asbestos removal specifications to established and reputable licensed asbestos removal contractors.
Projects have been completed nationwide in both domestic and commercial premises and can vary from as little as a few thousand dollars to millions.
TRAINING AND AWARENESS
Engage your staff
AEC can provide information, instruction and training for asbestos awareness. This is intended to give workers and supervisors the information they need to avoid work that may disturb asbestos or identify potential asbestos materials before these are disturbed, or any other items which might contain asbestos.
Training is bespoke, and is designed to meet our clients specific requirements cognisant of their portfolio and specific circumstances.
ASBESTOS TESTING
Know your hazards
When you have materials that may contain asbestos, whether in a domestic or commercial property in, it is recommended that you have a sample analysed to positively confirm whether or not asbestos is present.
You cannot tell by visual inspection that a product does not contain asbestos. Following a positive identification, it may, for the purposes of reassuring personnel, be prudent to conduct airborne fibre monitoring to assess airborne fibre levels in the vicinity.
AEC can safely retrieve samples for testing and prepare site asbestos registers.
